Ken Hacker

This is the Web home for Ken Hacker and his original music. Right now, he is working out the rest of his other pursuits while working on the songs that will eventually get recorded. This site will provide access to his musical work and  music recordings. It now provides consulting information, academic product information, and music information as it develops.

The music journey for Ken began a long, long time ago. It actually begins with childhood and being told that he had a great score on his "Seashore test" given in elementary school in Rochester, New York. He tried piano lessons but did not like the piano teachers. As a teenager, he tried guitar and did not get in with any group to form a band.

In college, he jammed with friends (Dave Nielsen and Paul Harrington) and then later in Sacramento, California, started writing music with his best friend, Roy Williams. Decades went by with no tangible products. Only self-satisfaction and occasional compliments seemed enough.  Then, he met Joann, his wife, in 1994 and started writing songs for and about her. She liked them and encouraged him to play more in front of other people. One thing led to another and he began working with two very talented musicians in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Now the three are planning upcoming recording sessions.

Ken his looking for his old friend from Sacramento, California, Roy C. Williams to come to New Mexico and help with the recording. Roy is great bass and guitar player and knows how to write music and record songs. Jump in Roy!

"No one should ever doubt the support that I give to my wife for her service in the NM Army National Guard. My songs express the love I have for her and my deep respect for her service.  My wife is the subject of most of my new songs and I hope that she will always be my main focus as I have never loved anyone as much as her in my entire life. As a member of the NM State Guard, I have some awareness of what military service involves and I will be using my music to express the feelings that soldiers, family members, and relatives of soldiers feel when their loved one in uniform is sent to be in harm's way. I will be playing my music to both military and civilian audiences but there will always be a theme of support for the troops."  (Ken Hacker)
